Chief Politico media writer Jack Schafer claims that the Democrats’ best chance of winning in 2024 is to run Joe Biden against primary opponents to test whether he is capable - and worthy - of a shot at holding the White House.
“If Biden can’t vanquish a worthy Democrat in the primary season, he has no business entering the general,” Schafer wrote, pointing out that “not since Ray Leonard’s ill-advised third comeback has a contestant seemed so out of condition for a big rumble.”
Citing an apparent reluctance within the Democrat party to challenge POTUS, he added: “Nobody is owed another term just because they’re completing their first. It would be best if you had to fight for the right to lead your party. And your country.”
