Pope Francis has held a confidential gathering with casualties of clerical sëxual maltreatment during a five-day visit to Portugal.
In a proclamation, the Vatican said the social occasion had been hung on Wednesday in an "environment of extraordinary tuning in".[BBC]
A report this year reasoned that no less than 4,815 kids had been abused in Portugal and that the Congregation had looked for "methodicallly" to hide the issue.
At a night service in Lisbon, the Pope said the Congregation should pay attention to "the anguished cry of the people in question".
