A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of an 18-year-old student, which occurred in Serere district. The victim, a secondary school student, was found dead in her room early Wednesday morning. Preliminary reports indicate that the incident began when her brother stepped outside briefly.
Upon returning, he saw his sister heading outside as well. Moments later, he heard a disturbance and saw a man fleeing from her room, where he subsequently found her deceased.
The case was reported to the police and logged under CRB:285/2024. Initial police findings reveal that the victim had received death threats from the suspect days before the incident, which were not reported at the time.
The conflict between the victim and the suspect reportedly arose after she discovered his romantic involvement with her best friend. The suspect was located and arrested in a nearby district shortly after the incident.
